Prospective Members

The Bradley University Speech Team provides students with the opportunity to develop their public speaking skills in a competitive setting.  This is an ability that is not only valued in the job market but also comes in handy during everyday situations.  The team is open to anyone who is interested in joining and although there are no financial costs it will take up a significant amount of time.  This may be why so many members form a lifelong bond!   So if you are looking for a way to express yourself and possible win a few trophies along the way please use the information below to contact the team and come see for yourself what it’s all about.

The best way to hit the ground running with the team and possibly qualify for a scholarship is to apply to the University as early as possible and let Dan Smith - D.O.F  know that you are interested in joining the team.  Please keep in mind that with the travel schedule it is often difficult for the coaches to get back to you, so if it has been a couple of weeks and you still have not heard from them, email them again.  You can also email the team officers and ask them for general information.  If you are a high school senior you should also try to attend the Armstrong Tournament in December.  If you are a freshmen - junior you should try to attend

Bradley University's Forensics Institute.

To apply for a scholarship please download the application letter and form.  Follow the instructions outlined in the letter.  Remember in order to be awarded a scholarship you must be accepted to the University.

Current Bradley Students

Talk to current team members in your classes or around campus.  Stop in and talk to Dan Smith during his office hours.  His office is located on the third floor of the GCC.  Or stop by the speech suite located on the second floor of the GCC.  The best way to learn more about the events is to come and see one of the Late Nite performances put on by the team.
